Designer Tracy Schultz is joining us today to share a fun way to add a 3-D affect to your cards by adding a simple hidden window…

Hidden Window Card

__________________________________________________________________________________

I love the look of hidden window cards – where the window goes all the way through to the card front and yet the front looks like a one-layer piece. I’ve often wondered, “how difficult they are to create?” So I made a little step-by-step tutorial to show you that they truly are easy to create and add dimension to your cards. In fact, they’re so fun that you’ll want a hidden window on all your cards!

{SUPPLIES} 1. Curly Label Frames 1 | 2. Create-a-Plaid: Large | OTHER: Designer Mix Buttons

The new Create-a-Plaid: Large is quickly becoming a true CSS favorite! With one simple stamp of the extended stripe bar image, we’ve created a monochromatic set of note cards. Pair each card with a color coordinated A2 Envie for a simple set ready for gifting…

Simply Stated

____________________________________________________________________

To add in the sentiment, we trimmed a sticky note slightly longer than the word, temporarily adhered it to the card base, and stamped directly over top. Once we removed the sticky note, we stamped the sentiment in color in the open space.

These CAS-style, simply-stated set of note cards are fun to create for a quick and simple project.

CSS-Butterfly1-2.jpg

We love sentiment cards. You never know when your kind, encouraging words can mean the world to someone else and brighten up their day. Send a little pick-me-up or a friendly reminder to someone to let them know you are thinking of them. It’s those little moments of joy that make each day special…

Take Joy in Today

____________________________________________________________________

We cut two strips of cardstock, and snipped the ends in a banner flag “v”. The thinner strip was stamped with the Diamond Grid background in Orange You Fabulous ink. Both strips were adhered to the card base. A sentiment was stamped underneath in Perfect Little Black Dress ink.

A butterfly was cut from the Butterflies 1 die cut and stamped with a coordinating image from the Butterfly Garden 1 stamp set. Two small pearl gems were adhered to the center of the butterfly to complete the card.

Create and encourage. We love to share projects that have inspirational messages for the recipient. Every now and again it is nice to send a card to let someone know that you are thinking about them, and that they are special to you…

You Are Special

____________________________________________________________________

We layered the outline diamond grid with the solid diamond grid images in the Designer Lines set to create this subtle argyle background on a You’re a Natural Darling cardstock panel in Creamsicle Cardigan ink. A large butterfly was die cut from the Butterflies 2 series, and the panel adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

A smaller butterfly was die cut from the same Butterflies 2 series and stamped with a coordinating image from Butterfly Garden 2. If you are wondering which butterflies coordinate with which die cuts you will look at the end number.  Butterflies 1 coordinates with Butterfly Garden 1 and for Butterflies 2, it coordinates with Butterfly Garden 2. Both designs are incredibly versatile and offer an abundance of options for creating beautiful projects.

A sentiment was stamped in Dish All the Dirt Brown ink onto a Creamsicle Cardigan cardstock strip.  The ends were flagged and the strip adhered with dimensionals.

CSS-MiniCircles-1d.jpg

Go bold! Design graphic patterns from single image stamps. Use them to create fun, bold patterns by repeating and overlapping them.  The more you experiment with your stamps the more fabulous patterns you will discover are right at your finger tips…

____________________________________________________________________

Best Wishes

____________________________________________________________________

Sometimes the simplest image can make the biggest impact.  This is one reason we adore the Mini Circles stamp set. It has (9) trendy circle designs – from a basic silhouette to a fab houndstooth design. For today’s project we chose the double circle to create a graphic pattern. That’s right, we only used one stamp.

We started with a straight line of circle images. You can lightly draw a grid pattern to help line your images up, and erase them later. But this stamp was large enough for us to give it a go freehand. After you create your rows of circles, you will go back in and start to overlap them. Then you can have a bit of fun and add a punch of color with your Copic markers.

Single image stamps are perfect for creating repetitive backgrounds that will result in really fun, bold, graphic patterns.

They have the power to influence, encourage, and brighten someone’s day. So today we are taking an exciting look at different ways to use words/sentiments in papercrafting…

Lil’ Critter Notes

____________________________________________________________________

Today we are sharing a playful, covered notepad. A sheet of Kraft Like a Rockstar cardstock was trimmed down to size, stamped with the woodgrain background from the Background Basics 1 stamp set, scored, and adhere to create a cover for a small notepad.

Next we stamped a fun sentiment using the solid letters in the Alpha Duo set, and the “lil’ critter” from Party Elements: Critters set. It’s super easy to create custom sentiments with the variety of sets in the Critter Collection.

The fox was die cut, stamped, colored in with Copic Trio marker sets, and then adhered to the notepad. A bit of twill ribbon was added to keep the notebook cover neatly in place.

For a little added fun we found these adorable set of wooden colored pencils.  We bundled the set with raffia ribbon and created a matching tag using the Tags 1 die cut and Taglines: Critter stamp set.

Pair them together and you have a coordinating notepad and pencil set. Don’t you think these would make great party favors to give out for a Woodlands themed Critter Party?
