Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Stretch your holiday stash and turn cute Rag Doll elves into lucky little Leprechauns just in time for the holiday! We love that we can use our Rag Doll: North Pole holiday set to create for more than one occasion.

With a pinch of masking and basic pencil lines you can remove the rag doll’s adorable stocking cap and replace with a lucky top hat.

It’s that simple to transform our rag dolls from a happy elf to a dancing leprechaun, ready to spread a bit of St. Patrick’s Day cheer! Have fun stretching your stamps to create for all sorts of fun occasions.

With St Patrick’s Day less than a week away, we remixed {this} sweet treat with a pinch o’ green for the upcoming holiday.

The mint chocolate candies were a “lucky” find with the fun trio of green shades. We paired this colorful snack with a few Clear and Simple Stamps goodies to create sweet, holiday-inspired favors.

Taking a cue from the color coordinated candies, we alternated colors to fill the 1″ Clear Candy Treat Bags and added a custom stamped topper with gold foil accents. Here’s a photo tutorial to walk you through “how-to” add gold foil to your toppers:

This is a simple and sweet project that is great for gifting at the office or to classmates on St. Patrick’s Day. Without naming any names, let’s just say these tasty little treat bags “magically disappeared” one by one as the day went on!

SUPPLIES: 1″ Clear Candy Bags | Toppers Combo (includes dies) | Toppers Fillers | Lucky Charm (clover icon) | A Blanc Check Cardstock | Perfect Little Black Dress Ink | Glamazon Green Ink | Simple Adhesive | Gold Foil, Mint Chocolate Candies (M&M’s)

Crafting brings us so much joy, especially during the holiday season. With so many end of year parties, out of town guests, and prepping for the countdown to Christmas, you can always use a little jump start for creating handmade gifts and cards for the holidays. And case’ing a project is a great way to get your mojo flowing.

Today we are sharing another fun Group Project. This week features ideas for case’ing a previous CSS project using the Limited Edition: Joy set. Join the design team, as we share our {CASE of Joy} projects.  We’ve included a full list of participating CSS designers:

Holiday Toast

We had so much fun mixing and matching collections to create a holiday inspired CASE of this By the Glass “Cocktail Recipe Card Set”. We kept the design style the same, with small changes. We substituted the cocktail recipe for stamped sentiments and the popped up elements in this version coordinate with a holiday theme.
By the Glass is a great all occasion series and we wanted to create a set that featured several different holidays. Each card starts with an A Blanc Check card base and cardstock panel for stamping.

{CHRISTMAS}
Trendy striped straws are a permanent staple when it comes to beverages, which is perfect for our holiday cocktail. The striped straw mimics the look of candycanes and pairs nicely with our cute holly image.
  • We stamped the tall glass and straw first in Perfect Little Black Dress ink.
  • Next we lined up each row of sentiments onto one clear block and stamped the complete stacked sentiment in Perfect Little Black Dress ink below the glass.
  • Next we stamped the holly berry image onto a small piece of A Blanc Check cardstock, colored all the images, and trimmed out the holly image.
  • We then adhered the holly to the straw with dimensionals.
  • The panel was then adhered to the card base.

{NEW YEAR}
How about a little bubbly to ring in the new year…
  • Again we started by stamping the glass image, and then added the stacked sentiment below in Perfect Little Black Dress ink using those awesome big numbers from the Cake Decorating series.
  • The image was colored with Copics, and then the bubbles were stamped in Golden Tiara ink,
  • We stamped a star image from the Taglines set in Haute Red Couture ink – loving that deeper red tone for the holidays.
  • The images was trimmed out and popped up at the base of the glass with dimensionals.

{VALENTINE’S}
Or enjoy a bit of flirty red wine…
  • To decorate the glass we colored the wine with our red copics and stamped a sweet little heart from the Taglines: Critters set.
  • For the bow, we stamped the bow image from the Well Preserved Jars: Medium set.
  • We colored in the image with our copic markers and then stamped over top in Haute Couture Red ink using one of the polka dot wrapper images from the Wrap-a-Round set.
  • The bow was trimmed out and popped up with a dimensional.

{ST. PATTY’S}
Meet up with friends to watch March Madness basketball games and have a green beer or two…
  • We used the masking techniques to layer our glasses for this fun image.
  • You start by stamping the glass in Perfect Little Black Dress ink.
  • Next we stamped the sentiment – same as before.
  • We then stamped the glass image again onto a sticky note to create a mask. Once cut out we laid it over top of the stamped image
  • We then stamped the bottle image slightly overlapping the glass, and before removing the mask we also stamped the “beer” label in I Steel Got it ink.
  • We removed the masked and colored the image with our copics.
  • A small shamrock image from Apothecary: Holidays was stamped, colored, trimmed out, and popped up and the base of the glass.

{WINTER}
Or snuggle up at home with a cozy cup of cocoa…

There is already an adorable mug of hot chocolate in the Cup of Cocoa stamp set, but we couldn’t resist making a larger one using the Well Preserved series. With a bit of creative masking we we able to super-size this comfy cozy treat.
  • The process is a bit different on this card, as we needed to stamp our marshmallows onto the card base first. But before we did, we had to make a mask of the jar so that only the top of the marshmallows would show on the card.
  • After we stamped the marshmallows, we made a mask of the marshmallows – making sure the the mask was only for the portion of the marshmallow image that was showing.
  • With the mask in place, we stamped the straw – made a mask for the straw and then stamped the main jar image.
  • Once our main jar and sentiment were stamped we started building our our mug of hot chocolate. We made sure that we stamped the image slightly off center to make room for the handle.
  • The handle will line up easily with the jar, but you can always adhere a sticky note down the edge of the jar and stamp just over the jar line to create a seamless image.
  • Next we stamped the filler image in Brown Leather Satchel for a warm cocoa color, and added copic coloring as needed. We even filled in the “joy” sentiment so that if would be solid.
  • And lastly, we stamped the marshmallow image, trimmed , and pooped it up at the base of the jar with dimensionals.

From Cocktail Recipe Cards to a Holiday Toast Card Set, we hope you enjoyed our CASE of Joy!

Lucky Charm

____________________________________________________________________

We focused mainly on the small clover circle image to stamp in a row for the focal point on our card.  We left an opening wide enough for a simple greeting to create this CAS-style card.

For the favor box we stamped the background text from Quotes II around the base.  Then assemble the Party Favor 2 box with Simple Adhesive, and tied a matching ribbon into a bow. To complete the favor, we added a simple tag from the Tags 1 die cut that has been stamped with a frame and sentiment from the Trendy Tags set.

But wait there are so many more wonderful options with the Lucky Charm set!  It comes with a full size tag frame that coordinates with the Tags 1 die cut.  It also has a polka-a-dot top and bottom frame filler to add even more detail to your tags, like the example we shared here.

There is a super fun rainbow image that pairs well with the pot-o-gold from the Taglines set, that was featured in this cute project by SW Editor Amber Daigre here.

And in case you missed all the fun and excitement on the Runway Inspired Challenge blog, you can see even more amazing creations from Cristina Kowalczyk, Sarah Jay, Jennifer Rzasa, Angeline Yong, and Laura Bassen here.

Style Watch {Pot o’ Gold}

I may be getting a little ahead of myself with today’s group of projects, but I simply could not resist a little St. Patrick’s Day crafting when I got ahold of this month’s release package.

Among the many newly released sets is the Lucky Charm stamp set, which is a much needed addition to my collection. I didn’t own any St. Patrick’s Day themed stamps before Lucky Charm, and this set totally fills in the gap…

Pot o’ Gold: Style Board Inspiration

__________________________________________________________________________________

It’s full of adorable and punny sentiments, as well as, a rainbow image that goes perfectly with the pot o’ gold image included in the previously released Taglines set – don’t you just love that each release works so perfectly with one another.

Today’s project showcases a card and two treat packages. I got creative with my Build-a-Critters: Owl/Kitty and my Party Favor #1 die cuts to create a pot o’ gold treat bag that is simply “charming”…

Until later Loverlies,

Amber D
