We are gearing up for a Hampton’s style white party and need cute favors…enter these adorable lobster lollipops and fun favor tags! You know we love a good pun, and couldn’t pass this one up. We also love to mix and match our stamps and dies to create the perfect pairing for all the ideas we dream up in our head – you know during the middle of the night when you can’t sleep because you want to see how cute that project will really turn out. Yup, we’ve all been there haven’t we? Well no need to pull an all nighter assembling these tasty favors because they come together in a pinch!
We have this thing with gold embossing – we love it! We. Love. It. Now pair pretty gold embossing with a rich, classic True Blue Fan color and we are over the top excited. If that is not enough, throw in some plaid patterns and well…it’s pretty much a party on paper!
Our supplies for this fun project are fairly simple. A ruler, a gold Sharpie, patterned paper, and our favorite A4 Envie Liner die. We are going to make pretty plaid envelope liners that are super easy and fun to alter to meet your needs.
We love to stamp our own patterns but sometimes it’s easier to grab papers you may already have on hand. A lot of times we find that the papers aren’t quite exactly what we were looking for, so we usually end up altering them just a bit to make them work for us.
Take this plaid for example. Simple pattern, nice rich colors…but a bit dull. We decided to dress it up by adding gold stripes into the mix with a simple gold Sharpie marker. What a huge difference a few lines of gold can make to this A4 liner.
Since our envie liner has quite a striking pattern, we wanted to keep the card simple. We’re loving the Edgers Collection featured in the Monday Merry Markdowns so we grabbed our Border: Edge 3 Combo for creating beautifully gilded gold borders on our card front. Love that the combo sets include both the stamps and coordinating dies for these pretty edge designs.

We stamped a border above and below, leaving space for a sentiment in N-00 | From an Anonymous Source ink – perfect for watermarking and embossing, to heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
Now is the time to get a jump start on building up your stash of thank you cards. These simple gilded gold edged notes are a great way to get ahead of the holidays and prep your Thank You cards in advance…

In preparation for the holiday weekend, we crafted a few star spangled favors to hand out to family and friends after the fireworks. You may recognize this project from the Create with Love day of crafting [here]. We get super excited when we can repurpose an idea with a few minor tweaks, don’t you?
For our star spangled version we replaced the heart images with our Shapes: Stars and a pretty Bow Trio: Mini die to create two styles of favor bags.
Crafting each style favor bag calls for just a few basic supplies….and lots of yummy gumballs. You could very well use sour cherries, hot tamales, red gummy stars, or jelly beans – seriously when it comes it color coordinated candy, we’ve pretty much got a stash that rivals a trip to Dylan’s Candy Bar! (shout out to Dylan’s – love that place! If you’ve never been, add it to your “to-do” list of must shop sweet stops in life.)
Once you’ve sorted out the candy of choice, follow a few simple steps to create your favor bags. This is a perfect project for assembly line style packaging, and little hands will be great helpers – just know that a few pieces of candy will come up missing.
- Fill candy bag with gumballs
- Die cut Topper from A Blanc Check cardstock
- Stamp with a Toppers Fillers image in Haute Red Couture ink
- Die cut a Bow Trio: Mini from Dare to be a Diva Red cardstock and assemble
- Adhere the Topper to the candy bag, and adhere the bow to the Topper
Our signature Bow Trio dies are a great accent for these favor bags. With three styles in each set of dies, you can mix and match the bows or choose to create them all the same – we love options!
- Fill candy bag with gumballs
- Cut a 1 1/2″ x 7″ strip of A Blanc Check cardstock
- Score strip at 1 1/2″, 2″, 4 7/8″, and 5 3/8″
- Stamp Designer Liners background on an angle onto strip in True Blue Fan ink
- Die cut Shapes: Star from the center of the stamped strip
- Cut a panel of cardstock 1 1/2″ x 1 7/8″, and adhere behins star opening in strip with foam tape.
- Die cut smaller Shapes: Star from Dare to be a Diva Red cardstock, and adhere to center of star opening on strip
- Fold strip along score lines, wrap around candy bag, and adhere ends together
As a time saver, you can easily grab scrap strips of designer paper to wrap around your 3″ Clear Candy favor bags, but we love stamping all the details. And truthfully, your guests will love to know you hand stamped something special just for them.
We’re off to primp and prep for our holiday guests. Have a happy, sweet and safe 4th of July!
In June, we celebrate Dads everywhere! The best part about holidays are spending time with loved ones and sharing gifts! If you haven’t noticed, we sort of LOVE the art of gifting right down to the cute tags to embellish pretty wrapped presents. So today we are offering a fun freebie to give you a head start on dressing up your Father’s Day gifts.
We printed the Tag-alongs onto two sheets of CSS Cardstock – once in Pressed Greige Linen and a second time onto Kraft Like a Rockstar. We are completely smitten with a rustic color combo for Dad this year and added a touch of True Blue Fan along with Bronze Spotlight as our gifting palette.
Once we selected our colors, we followed a few quick steps to create a set of tags:
- Download the Father’s Day Tag-alongs and print on the cardstock color of your choice.
- Follow the crop lines on the printout and trim with scissors or a paper cutter.
- Punch a hole through the solid circle on the template to create a tag.
- String with decorative ribbon or twine.
- Decorate your tags with your favorite stamps.
We mainly reached for our A Guy Thing stamp set – it is perfect for creating with Dad in mind, and it’s on special during the month of June to include the coordinating dies [here]!
We couldn’t resist coloring these adorable sneakers to match our color palette. Using our handy File It system, we could quickly select the right markers to match our Bronze Spotlight ink.
We use our Colordex daily! Seriously, we have no idea how we ever created without it.
Still using the A Guy Thing set we went a bit trendy and stamped a fun mustache in True Blue Fan ink. To add a bit of whimsy we grabbed our white gel pen for adding in highlights.
Equally adored as much as mustaches, is a timeless gingham print. Here we doubled up tags by adding a simple stamped Gingham background in Bronze Spotlight ink.
We love that something as simple as layering tags with a fun print or pattern can add so much interest to these printed tags. The hardest part is picking out your favorite pattern – we figured gingham was perfect for the occasion.
Rounding out the set, we kept it modern and fun with random stripes of True Blue Fan lines from the Create-a-Plaid stamp set. Who knew modern could be so chic and so easy to do! Our plaid set is well loved and well used (as you can see by the staining on the stamp set) and comes in handy for decorating tags.
We hope these Father’s Day Tag-alongs will be useful in the coming weeks! Dad’s everywhere will love the extra thought and care put into their special day…
How will you celebrate Dad? Shop the project [here] to dress up your Father’s Day gift with a fun set of tags then share what you create and hashtag #csstagalong…

Stationery is one of our first loves! We’re bringing a new series to the blog that will share creative ways to incorporate popular styles into DIY stationery. What better trend to kick things off than the new Gemstone Collection?!
Gems are all the rage, and can truly never go out of style. When is the last time you said “no, thanks” and opted out of receiving diamonds because they weren’t on trend? Um, how about never! Gems are always in style – diamonds, rubies, emeralds…pretty much all bling is welcomed, especially when cutely crafted as stationery.
We were inspired by the new Gemstone Collection for our first take on creating fun Stationery Trends. Since gems generally appear in the form of jewelry, we grabbed a few pieces of costume jewelry and got right to work. Read more
