Clear and Simple Stamps | Ombre Vibes - Good Vibes Only - Stamp of the Month

Have you earned your free stamp of the month “Good Vibes Only” yet? You only have a few days left to place an order and receive the July Stamp of the Month freebie set. We used the Good Vibes Only stamp to create a set of Ombré note cards. You’ll love how easy it is to layer ink for a fun way to add color to your sentiments.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Good Vibes Only - Stamp of the Month

Gather up a few of your favorite CSS Hybrid Ink pads in a similar color family, so that you can create a pretty gradient of ombré color. We started by inking the stamp in the lightest of the three ink colors. Next we lightly dabbed the middle shade of ink on the bottom 2/3rds of the stamp, and finally inking the bottom in the darkest ink color. Read more

Clear and Simple Stamps | Joy Mini Holiday Cards

Clear and Simple Stamps | Joy Mini Holiday Cards‘Tis the season for giving with a joyful heart! And not getting caught up in the mad dash of the holidays. We adopt the less is more theory to hold onto our sanity during this time of year…enter the mini holiday card.

Mini holiday cards are the perfect compromise – you get to create something handmade, and it’s small so you can make lots of them in a little amount of time. They tuck neatly under ribbon on a wrapped gift, fit perfectly inside a stocking, or placed between keys on a keyboard at a coworker’s desk.  We are a huge fan of the mini card.

To get started we picked a theme and a holiday-inspired color story. With a little pre-planning, this makes creating variations of your mini card come together quickly. Our set of minis is all about the Joy the holidays bring. We reached for our Flurry Days Sentiments stamp set and created this fun trio of cards.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Joy Mini Holiday CardsWe anchored each mini card with the word “joy” and an adorable tiny red cardinal from the Party Elements: Winter Woodlands Extras stamp set. Don’t overlook the little images in stamp sets – often times they can steal the show, like this cute little bird! For another fun detail, we drew lines with a white gel pen onto each letter – a simple way to alter images for added interest.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Joy Mini Holiday CardsAnd what’s a cute mini note without an equally fabulous envie?! The A3 Stationery Dies make the perfect envelope for 3″ mini cards. (And should absolutely be on your crafty #myCSSwish list!) We love the two-tone color with R-01 | Dare to be a Diva Red on the outside and GR-04 | In the Limelight on the inside – so cute and so festive.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Joy Mini Holiday CardsWe’re using these mini note cards for gifting. Inside each card is stamped with a simple “to/from” sentiment using the Trendy Tags stamp set. We’ve made a stash of these mini notes for quick grab and go during this holiday season. It’s always helpful to have a few extras on hand just in case you need to give out a last minute gift or two, or ten!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Banner Stationery

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Banner StationeryIf there is one thing you can count on at Clear and Simple Stamps, we LOVE to mask.  We’ve stated this more times than you could count, we just can’t help ourselves – it’s hands down a favorite and easy way to alter images. Today we’re sharing a fun twist on this simple technique with a bit of Selective Masking. This is when you isolate an area of the stamp so that only a portion of the image is visible.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Collect the Entire Rag Doll SeriesWe also love the sentiment series in the Rag Doll Collection. Each doll is paired with a statement word and has supporting sentiments for a variety of uses.  They can even be mixed and matched among the Rag Doll sets for creating more options. (Pssst….and for a limited time, these lil’ cuties are 50% off in the store as part of our Merry Markdowns here – run don’t walk, limited quantities available!)

Pairing cute character stamps with a bit of selective masking was a match made in heaven. We chose Rag Doll Mia: You to create an adorable set of stationery.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Banner StationeryOne thing to love about masking is that it does not take a ton of supplies. If you have plain tape and sticky notes, you can mask just about anything!

The fun part is peeling back the masks to reveal your newly crafted image. Here we wanted to place the ribbon banner from Party Elements: Winter Woodlands Extras between the Rag Doll and the main sentiment to create a pretty focal point.

We masked the sentiment to stamp the Rag Doll image, left a bit of space for where the banner would go, then stamped the image again masking the image so that only the words would stamp. We extended the lines of the letters up to meet the banner as needed with a fine tip black pen.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Banner Stationery - selective masking techniqueWe see you checking out her cute little plaid shirt! Isn’t it adorable? We stamped the Rag Doll image onto scrap cardstock, colored in her shirt with markers and stamped it with the Plaid background stamp. A little fussy cutting and paper piecing makes these Rag Dolls pretty in plaid!

Remember to save your masks and keep them in the storage cases with your stamp sets for later use.  Just another plus when it comes to masking – you can reuse them for future projects. Especially if you enjoy masking as much as we do…

Clear and Simple Stamps | Stamping Patterned Envie Liners

Clear and Simple Stamps | Stamping Patterned Envie LinersJust when you thought stationery couldn’t get any cuter, along comes the Cute as a Bug Collection! Typically you think of using your stamps to create a specially crafted card, but this time we are using them to make fun patterns and dress up envelopes.

We paired our Cute as a Bug Collection with our A4 Envie Liners to stamp up fun designs for a playful surprise. Each A4 Envie Liner was die cut from our A Blanc Check gift wrap, to create a light weight liner for inside the envelopes.

Here is a look into how each style came together so you can create a fun set of Cute as a Bug Envie Liners of your own:

We love that these little snails are all headed in the same direction in an orderly fashion. Your eye follows their movement across the envie liner as they deliver your snail mail!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Stamping Patterned Envie LinersFollow these simple steps to create a Walk the Line liner:

  1. Die cut an A4 Envie from A Blanc Check Gift Wrap.
  2. Draw horizontal lines with a pencil and ruler.
    • (TIP: we measured the size of the stamp, then drew the lines to match the size for equal spacing between rows.)
  3. Stamp rows of snails in Perfect Little Black Dress ink.
  4. Erase lines, and color with markers.
  5. Adhere liner to color coordinating A4 Envelope.

Polka dots are a classic and timeless pattern that every designer has in their toolbox. For these envies, we created with a fun play on a traditional design element repeating the sentiment circle as a polka dot pattern.

We went for a bit of free flowing fun with this random pattern of ladybug cuteness. By stamping in a mix of directions, these little darlings are scattered throughout the liner like cute bits of confetti.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Summersicles - a DIY popsicle summer treat

Clear and Simple Stamps | Summersicles - a DIY popsicle summer treatEnjoy the sweet taste of summer with a pop of color when crafting these adorable summersicle treats!

Growing up we loved popsicles, so when we spotted these hard candy versions we had to have them. And by “had to have” we mean at least one in every flavor, even if it meant driving to multiple stores. The struggle is real, and we are no quitters when it comes to rounding up sweets.

While the original packaging served it’s purpose, we wanted something a bit cuter and more interactive. Our Party Favor 7 box was a perfect fit. Simply cut off the bottom flap and we instantly created a sleeve for housing these fun candy popsicles.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Summersicles - a DIY popsicle summer treat how-to slider packagingWe decorated each sleeve by stamping colorful stripes and adorned them with adorable fruit images to match the hand-stamped flavors on the sticks using the Perfect Harvest Sentiments stamp set. Loving how great our CSS Hybrid Ink stamps on the wood to create a crisp impression for pretty packaging.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Summersicles - a DIY popsicle summer treatNeedless to say the Blue Raspberry was one of the first to get eaten. It was a popular flavor in the office. Cherry and Green Apple were a close second…but let’s be honest, none of these lasted long!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Mini Valentines

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Mini Valentines

As kids we ranked holidays by the amount of candy we’d receive. Halloween reigned supreme, but make no mistake Valentine’s Day was a close second. What made Valentine’s Day so fun were the cute cards that came with your candy treats – let’s be honest, who wouldn’t love getting piles of sweet treats and cutely decorated valentines?!

So it’s safe to say that when we spotted these adorable mini mailboxes at Target, we knew immediately that this year’s Valentine’s Day would be all about adorable mini cards that would fit into the mailbox…enter Mini Tri-Fold 2, a perfect fit!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Mini Valentines

Let’s take a time out to chat a minute about Mini Tri-Fold 2:

  • Includes (2) dies – a mini tri-fold envie and an insert panel
  • It is perfect for gift giving and will hold a gift card
  • The insert panel coordinates with the Flashcards and Flashcard Fillers sets
  • Notice we said Mini Tri-Fold 2, which means that there is another fab Mini Tri-Fold that is equally as cute with a decorative insert panel.

We used the Mini Tri-Fold 2 to create the envelopes for our valentines. We die cut the envelope from gift wrap for a lighter weight paper, that still color coordinates.  And same for the little sticker – a die cut heart from gift wrap layered onto Simple Adhesive to create a sticker. (Psst…a little gift wrap goes a LONG way.) Are you seeing the possibilities? This is die set is a keeper!

For our valentines, we wanted to keep the design simple and easy to mass produce. We started with the insert flashcard panel from the Mini Tri-Fold 2 die set. From there we cut a large heart die from the insert that gave a positive and negative cut, which means two cards for every one cut.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Mini Valentines

Since we colored our Rag Doll images with markers, we layered the front and backs to keep the color from showing through to the other side.  It’s an extra step, but it makes a world of difference!

If you subscribe to our Rag Doll Newsletter, you’ll find a super fun tip on how to quickly create these one-layer backgrounds. You can sign-up [here].

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Mini Valentines

The fun part was decorating the front and backs of each mini Valentine. You could easily create one design and mass produce them, or you can create a variety of designs – they are fun to color and the recipients will want to collect them all.

Gift giving is an art. And it’s one that we are constantly adding new ideas to our collection of packaging possibilities. We’ve shared a few bags, tags, and gift cards in our Post Holiday Round-Up…and couldn’t resist sharing crafty gift box ideas for fun favors!

Life is like a box of chocolates…but life is a lot better when that box of chocolates is creatively handmade with a few Clear and Simple Stamps crafty supplies. Amber Kemp-Gerstel is sharing her creatively sweet project that is perfect for Valentine’s Day gifting.

We’ve all seen those heart-shaped chocolate gift boxes but they seem so impersonal. By creating your own box, you can add a personalized touch and fill it with homemade goodies.

With a few creative cuts of the Heart Doily die and a little Simple Adhesive, you can assemble a beautiful gift box that recipients will keep long after the candies have been eaten up. Join me at Damask Love for a tutorial on how-to make this heart-shaped box of chocolates on your own!

Are you loving this Heart Doily turned favor box as much as we do? We are completely smitten with this fun packaging idea!

CARDSTOCK: I’m a Princess Pink, Golden Tiara, A Blanc Check | INK: Golden Tiara | DIES: Heart Doily, Tags 1, Bow Trio: Mini | STAMPS: Trendy Tags | OTHER: Simple Adhesive, Paper Filler, Chocolates

We are a fan of color. Especially pretty pops of color, and two-tone gift boxes are a great way to have fun with color. For our two-tone boxes we chose A Blanc Check (white) as our first color and then varied the second color for each box to range in VIP Purple, I’m a Princess Pink, and Trendsetter Blue.

For these packages we used Party Favor 2, which comes with a die for the base and (2) die options for lids. Here we used only the base to create a slightly deeper box. In addition, we stamped diagonal stripes in color for a bit of added detail.

We wanted to make sure our lines matched up on the corners, so we used handy dandy sticky notes to create a guide.

HOW-TO: (1) We essentially masked off the base, with only the area we wanted to stamp showing. (2) We stamped the Designer Lines background on a diagonal in color across the open area. (3) Carefully rotate the sticky note mask to the next side panel. (4) Use the stamped off lines on the sticky notes as a guide for your next set of diagonal line stamping. (5) Repeat on all sides. (6) Remove sticky note mask and assemble using Simple Adhesive

We give a hint on the outside packaging of the popcorn treats waiting inside with an adorable popcorn kernel image raised up on the Mini Label Tag. Inside we filled our 3″ Flat Bottom Clear Candy Bags with popcorn and added a stamped Wrappers label with the File It: Kits and File It: Stationery sets. If you love packaging favors and treats like we do the File It Series is truly a must have! You will be amazed at all the different ways you can dress up projects.

CARDSTOCK: I’m a Princess Pink, Trendsetter Blue, VIP Purple, A Blanc Check | INK: Perfect Little Black Dress, I’m a Princess Pink, Trendsetter Blue, VIP Purple | DIES: Wrappers, Party Favor 2, Shapes: Hearts Combo, Mini Label Tags | STAMPS: Bucket-o-Popcorn, File It: Kits, File It: Stationery, All Wrapped Up, Taglines: Little Critters (tiny heart) | OTHER: 3″ Flat Bottom Clear Candy Bags, Natural Cotton Twine, Foam Tape, Simple Adhesive, Popcorn, Copics

Growing up we looked forward to seasonal candy. Halloween is candy corn, Christmas gives a nod to all things peppermint, and Valentine’s brings those adorably sweet, candy, conversation hearts. As a kid, we didn’t care how these assortment of sweets were delivered – just as long as we got the chance to eat as much of them as possible!

Now that we are “a little” older, we still love them…more so for looks than for the taste, and couldn’t wait to create our own version of packaging for gifting this sweet Valentine’s Day treat.

Party Favor 6 did all the heavy lifting. Once die cut, we simply die cut a heart from the back panel, which now serves as the front of the box. We did this so that the back flap would not show. Instead on the back we stamped a “to/from” image so that these favor boxes can also double as valentines!

We stamped the sentiment “heart candy” and heat embossed it in gold for a clean, modern design. The favor box was was assembled with Simple Adhesive, and a mini tag with a stamped sentiment was added with Gold/White Twine. The set All Wrapped up is

CARDSTOCK: A Blanc Check | INK: Perfect Little Black Dress, From an Anonymous Source | DIES: Party Favor 6, Mini Label Tags, Shapes: Hearts Combo, Doily | STAMPS: Trendy Tags, All Wrapped Up, Snack Bar, Sweet Sentiments: Holidays | OTHER: Gold/White Twine, Gold Embossing Power, Conversation Heart Candy, Clear Acetate, Simple Adhesive
