Clear and Simple Stamps | Candycorn Inspired Stationery

Clear and Simple Stamps | Candycorn Inspired StationeryIt’s National Candycorn Day and we’re sharing a simple way to turn your Shapes Series of stamps and dies into a holiday treat by adding a bit of color. We’ll warn you, that once you start making these little candycorn cuties you will cut and color a lifetime supply…it’s that easy!

In order to be accurate with our coloring, we needed a bit of inspiration – that and we have a serious sweet tooth, so any excuse to craft with candy is always welcomed in the office.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Cnadycorn Inspired Color StoryIf you follow us on Instagram you might recognize this quick tip on coloring candycorn. We love sharing behind the scenes peeks at upcoming projects, so be sure to follow us and join along in our creative journey [here].

Turning triangles into candycorn is a quick and simple process.  We drew a faint pencil line as a guide, but you can certainly freehand your coloring. Grab your markers and add wide bands of color. Start with yellow on the bottom then add your band of orange for a cutely papercrafted piece of candycorn.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Triangle Candycorn Embellishment How-ToIt’s so much fun to play with shapes in an unexpected way to create for the holidays. Cut and color a single image or play around with a handful of paper candy to create a pair of sinfully delicious note cards.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Summersicles - a DIY popsicle summer treat

Clear and Simple Stamps | Summersicles - a DIY popsicle summer treatEnjoy the sweet taste of summer with a pop of color when crafting these adorable summersicle treats!

Growing up we loved popsicles, so when we spotted these hard candy versions we had to have them. And by “had to have” we mean at least one in every flavor, even if it meant driving to multiple stores. The struggle is real, and we are no quitters when it comes to rounding up sweets.

While the original packaging served it’s purpose, we wanted something a bit cuter and more interactive. Our Party Favor 7 box was a perfect fit. Simply cut off the bottom flap and we instantly created a sleeve for housing these fun candy popsicles.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Summersicles - a DIY popsicle summer treat how-to slider packagingWe decorated each sleeve by stamping colorful stripes and adorned them with adorable fruit images to match the hand-stamped flavors on the sticks using the Perfect Harvest Sentiments stamp set. Loving how great our CSS Hybrid Ink stamps on the wood to create a crisp impression for pretty packaging.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Summersicles - a DIY popsicle summer treatNeedless to say the Blue Raspberry was one of the first to get eaten. It was a popular flavor in the office. Cherry and Green Apple were a close second…but let’s be honest, none of these lasted long!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Summer Snapshots - create cute selfies for summer stationery

Summer just got a whole lot cuter! We love welcoming in a new season, especially when it involves creating with Rag Doll images. These adorable characters are ready to enjoy a Summer filled with fun adventures.

We started with a warm color palette to create with the perfect shades of Summer. By having an index guide of color swatches handy, we were able to easily color coordinate each set of note cards.

From there we simply die cut our Polaroid Frames Dies and stamped a trio of super cute Rag Dolls.

After stamping and coloring each image, we nestled the centers back into each Polaroid Frame and adhered them to their respective card bases.

And since we’re celebrating Summer, we reached for the Rag Doll: Elements set for a mix of fun glasses turned sunglasses with a bit of creative coloring.

It’s so fun to see all the different ways you can make each Rag Doll come to life. We love to keep an index of “how-to” color ideas using the File It Collection – it’s a great way to keep track of ideas to alter images with our markers.

But what’s a summer celebration without balloons? Using the Up and Away stamp set we added a popped up balloon on each card in a trio of our summer colors.

A simple “Hello Summer” stamped below each snapshot pretty much says it all – who else is ready for enjoying the crazy fun days of Summer?!

Clear and Simple Stamps | DIY Garden Gifts

It’s Spring…at least that’s what the calendar says! However, we still have a smidgen of snow as ground cover and chilly temps to go right along with it. It doesn’t feel much like Spring, so today we are creating with Spring in mind in hopes of warm weather and sunny days to follow soon after.

Nothing says a change in seasons has arrived like the sprouting of pretty flowers and fresh veggies in the garden. This year, we are celebrating Spring with a fun gift for the planting season using a few of our Clear and Simple Stamps supplies.

Clear and Simple Stamps | DIY Garden Gifts Supplies

Gathering up these supplies made for a super quick transformation from plain ol’ seed packets to handcrafted cuties! We have to admit, we are the kind of gardeners that will purchase seeds based on how cute the packaging is on the shelf. So why not make our own that will also double as a plant marker?!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Garden Gifts DIY Seed Packets with MarkerWith (4) simple steps we created a matching set of seed packets that are great for gifting with starter plants:

  1. Take a wooden spoon and one of your Favor Flags die and trace the banner opening onto the spoon with a pencil. Cut along the lines to create a pointed tip, and use your sanding block to smooth the edges. Then stamp the wooden spoon with the coordinating veggie or fruit name from Perfect Harvest Sentiments using Perfect Little Black Dress Ink.
  2. Die cut Toppers from A Blanc Check cardstock, and stamp the front with the mini polka dots Toppers Fillers image. Lightly draw lines horizontally across the top and bottom using the wooden spoon as a guide. Use your exacto knife to trim down from the left and right edges of the lines vertically  – this will hold your stamped plant marker in place.
  3. Erase your pencil lines and insert the plant marker into the topper using the newly cut opening.
  4. Die cut a veggie using the Mini Produce dies. Stamp the coordinating image from Perfect Harvest Too. Then adhere the stamped veggie to the Topper with foam tape.

Our local nursery has a variety of beautiful starter plants that were perfect to bring our gardening project idea to life. The eco-friendly pots are great for easily planting in a larger pot, a wall garden, or in a lovely raised bed. Of course we wanted to make them a bit prettier, so we wrapped each with some of our Kraft Like a Rockstar gift wrap. If you have been following us for a while, you will note we use our gift wrap almost daily! We LOVE this stuff. It’s so versatile, and great for way more than simply wrapping gorgeous gifts.
