When you spend a few days at the beach, you are sure to be inspired to create in warm summery colors. And to color lots of super cute seaside critters! We find it sort of relaxing to hang out by the waters edge with a few markers, and the Beach Bum stamp set for a fun afternoon of coloring. What can we say, it’s the simple things that bring us joy.
Hip hip hooray for a little Rosé! That’s been our mantra around here all summer long, and we have to admit we really love a good Rosé. Well what’s not to love? It has a pretty pink color, gives off a sweet taste and smell, not to mention the fun bubbly effervescents – it’s a perfect summer treat for grown ups. Hey, adulting is hard! We need a little reprieve every now and again – we just happen to take ours with pink bubbles.

Introducing the new and improved Envie Liner Plus series.
Our Envie Liners have been a longtime CSS Favorite, and we’ve made some awesome upgrades based on customer feedback and how we like to style our own envelopes and stationery. We couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up National Letter and Card Writing Month than with a great new set of dies to dress up your everyday stationery needs.
–> What’s new and improved, you ask? …Everything!
Inside the pages of the new Crafts Meets Classroom: Valentine Edition guidebook are a variety of favors, stationery ideas, and simple DIY projects perfect for gifting this Valentine’s day. We’re taking a closer look at the new Ruled Lined Paper stamp set used to create the adorable Teacher Favor Bag found on page 4.
We love a good background, but make it oversized and we are in stamping heaven! The large size covers a standard A2 card front. You can easily dress up envelopes and banners in no time. And for this project it created a notebook style muslin bag with one single impression. This stamp set certainly deserves an A+ in our book for being both functional and pretty darn fabulous!
With the holidays only a few days away, now is the perfect time to start creating your stash of Thank You cards. ‘Tis the season for proper gift giving etiquette, and saying thank you in style is definitely rule no. 1! Read more

If there is one thing you can count on at Clear and Simple Stamps, we LOVE to mask. We’ve stated this more times than you could count, we just can’t help ourselves – it’s hands down a favorite and easy way to alter images. Today we’re sharing a fun twist on this simple technique with a bit of Selective Masking. This is when you isolate an area of the stamp so that only a portion of the image is visible.
We also love the sentiment series in the Rag Doll Collection. Each doll is paired with a statement word and has supporting sentiments for a variety of uses. They can even be mixed and matched among the Rag Doll sets for creating more options. (Pssst….and for a limited time, these lil’ cuties are 50% off in the store as part of our Merry Markdowns here – run don’t walk, limited quantities available!)
Pairing cute character stamps with a bit of selective masking was a match made in heaven. We chose Rag Doll Mia: You to create an adorable set of stationery.
The fun part is peeling back the masks to reveal your newly crafted image. Here we wanted to place the ribbon banner from Party Elements: Winter Woodlands Extras between the Rag Doll and the main sentiment to create a pretty focal point.
We masked the sentiment to stamp the Rag Doll image, left a bit of space for where the banner would go, then stamped the image again masking the image so that only the words would stamp. We extended the lines of the letters up to meet the banner as needed with a fine tip black pen.
We see you checking out her cute little plaid shirt! Isn’t it adorable? We stamped the Rag Doll image onto scrap cardstock, colored in her shirt with markers and stamped it with the Plaid background stamp. A little fussy cutting and paper piecing makes these Rag Dolls pretty in plaid!
Remember to save your masks and keep them in the storage cases with your stamp sets for later use. Just another plus when it comes to masking – you can reuse them for future projects. Especially if you enjoy masking as much as we do…
