Clear and Simple Stamps | Sweet as Pie Stationery

Clear and Simple Stamps | Sweet as Pie Stationery

Sweetest Day is the perfect excuse to indulge in all things sweet! For us, that translated into papercrafting sweet treats over the weekend by way of adorable pie themed stationery to celebrate the occasion. We’ve mentioned a time or two before that we celebrate all holidays big or small, especially the foodie ones – so Sweetest Day was the perfect excuse to get in the studio and create a little something cute! Who doesn’t love a good flaky crust filled with sweet fruit and served á la mode with a scoop of old fashioned vanilla ice cream? To save ourselves from the serious calories associated with eating pie for breakfast, lunch, and dinner we opted for a cute, calorie-free version of stamped stationery.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll: Tea Party Extras Stamp Set

Enter the Rag Doll: Tea Party Extras stamp set! We love all the images and sentiments that come in every Rag Doll stamp set. It makes them so versatile and easy to mix and match with other stamp sets. Here we chose the adorable mini pie images to create with for our sweet stationery set.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Sweet as Pie Stationery

We certainly kept things simple with this fun pair of cards. We easily created a custom sentiment with a fun play on words that was a perfect fit for this project. We used a mix of the Alpha Thin dies and a stamped sentiment from the Party Elements: BBQ stamp set. While we choose “sweet as pie” you could very simply change around the sayings to make it work for a variety of foodie inspired occasions!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Oceans of Fun

When you spend a few days at the beach, you are sure to be inspired to create in warm summery colors. And to color lots of super cute seaside critters! We find it sort of relaxing to hang out by the waters edge with a few markers, and the Beach Bum stamp set for a fun afternoon of coloring. What can we say, it’s the simple things that bring us joy.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Ombre Vibes - Good Vibes Only - Stamp of the Month

Have you earned your free stamp of the month “Good Vibes Only” yet? You only have a few days left to place an order and receive the July Stamp of the Month freebie set. We used the Good Vibes Only stamp to create a set of Ombré note cards. You’ll love how easy it is to layer ink for a fun way to add color to your sentiments.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Good Vibes Only - Stamp of the Month

Gather up a few of your favorite CSS Hybrid Ink pads in a similar color family, so that you can create a pretty gradient of ombré color. We started by inking the stamp in the lightest of the three ink colors. Next we lightly dabbed the middle shade of ink on the bottom 2/3rds of the stamp, and finally inking the bottom in the darkest ink color. Read more

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Banner Stationery

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Banner StationeryIf there is one thing you can count on at Clear and Simple Stamps, we LOVE to mask.  We’ve stated this more times than you could count, we just can’t help ourselves – it’s hands down a favorite and easy way to alter images. Today we’re sharing a fun twist on this simple technique with a bit of Selective Masking. This is when you isolate an area of the stamp so that only a portion of the image is visible.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Collect the Entire Rag Doll SeriesWe also love the sentiment series in the Rag Doll Collection. Each doll is paired with a statement word and has supporting sentiments for a variety of uses.  They can even be mixed and matched among the Rag Doll sets for creating more options. (Pssst….and for a limited time, these lil’ cuties are 50% off in the store as part of our Merry Markdowns here – run don’t walk, limited quantities available!)

Pairing cute character stamps with a bit of selective masking was a match made in heaven. We chose Rag Doll Mia: You to create an adorable set of stationery.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Banner StationeryOne thing to love about masking is that it does not take a ton of supplies. If you have plain tape and sticky notes, you can mask just about anything!

The fun part is peeling back the masks to reveal your newly crafted image. Here we wanted to place the ribbon banner from Party Elements: Winter Woodlands Extras between the Rag Doll and the main sentiment to create a pretty focal point.

We masked the sentiment to stamp the Rag Doll image, left a bit of space for where the banner would go, then stamped the image again masking the image so that only the words would stamp. We extended the lines of the letters up to meet the banner as needed with a fine tip black pen.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Rag Doll Banner Stationery - selective masking techniqueWe see you checking out her cute little plaid shirt! Isn’t it adorable? We stamped the Rag Doll image onto scrap cardstock, colored in her shirt with markers and stamped it with the Plaid background stamp. A little fussy cutting and paper piecing makes these Rag Dolls pretty in plaid!

Remember to save your masks and keep them in the storage cases with your stamp sets for later use.  Just another plus when it comes to masking – you can reuse them for future projects. Especially if you enjoy masking as much as we do…

Clear and Simple Stamps | Peanuts Inspired Stationery

CSS-PeanutsStationery(main)The gang is all here and ready to celebrate the weekend watching the new Peanuts Movie! To say we were pretty excited when we found out about this movie doesn’t quite do it justice. We were prepared to be first in line with our popcorn and snacks in tow for the adventures of Charlie Brown and company to entertain us all day long.

In prep for a super fun movie outing, we thought it would be awesome to create mini Peanuts Movie inspired note cards – including one for Charlie Brown’s sweetheart the little red-haired girl! Love that we get to see her in real life.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Peanuts Inspired StationeryWe did mention that we are serious about our love for the Peanuts comic strip, didn’t we?!

Whenever we think mini note cards, we immediately grab our A3 Stationery Dies. They create the perfect 3″ square card and envelope set. For these Peanuts Movie inspired notes we simply used the envelope and the liner dies.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Peanuts Inspired Stationery with Gold Foiled LinersAnd how cute are these liners? A custom liner for each character equals major fun, and we have it as a free download to share with you [here]!

Print these cute liners out with a laser printer and foil them for a bit of added shimmer. We even love the left over negative from foiling – you could certainly use both as adorable envelope liners for the character note cards.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Peanuts Inspired Stationery with Gold Foiled LinersNow that we have the envies all prepped and ready, let’s assemble the gang. And we’ll warn you now – this Peanuts inspired stationery set is ridiculously cute! Each Peanuts character has such a distinct style that we had the best time mixing and matching stamps and dies to recreate each look on the mini notes.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Peanuts Inspired StationeryThere are several tips and tricks to creating each character note card and we’ll take you through each one. What we love most about these abstract note cards (besides the mega cute factor) is that they come together so easily, and make a great gift set for any Peanuts lover!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Peanuts Inspired Stationery - tips and tricksHow lovable are each of these adorable character cards?! The new Peanuts movie is super cute, and has certainly inspired a handful of creative projects and parties you just may see pop up on the blog in the future (wink, wink)!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Shark Week Crafting #sharkweek

Clear and Simple Stamps | Shark Week Crafting #sharkweekThe frenzy and excitement of Shark Week is here! We couldn’t resist getting in on the fun with a few activities and a tasty treat while binge watching the Discovery Channel’s annual shark-athon.

Last year we shared adorable “Shark Bait” favor boxes and tags that you can see [here]. Yes, we just used “shark bait” and “adorable” in the same sentence – but they really are cute! This year, we have a couple of interactive projects to get you involved with the full shark experience.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Shark Week Crafting - Puzzle (#sharkweek)We love to go diving, and one iconic image that every scuba diver knows is the dive flag. It’s a way to signal other boats that divers are in the water. So naturally, we wanted to have fun with the flag for Shark Week.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Dive Flag Puzzle for #sharkweek

The Puzzle Die is super fun to use for creating special projects.  We’ve made color your own mailable puzzles [here], a picture puzzle [here], and today a sponged puzzle.

It’s just as much fun to sponge on the color as it is to piece the puzzle back together again.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Dive Flag Puzzle for #sharkweekSimply cut a wide strip of masking paper, and lay it onto a die cut puzzle on a diagonal. Then sponge the areas on both sides of the masking paper with Dare to be a Diva Red ink. Sponge on the color as rich as you would like – making sure to allow some drying time between layering of color so that you don’t oversaturate the cardstock. Then remove the masking paper to reveal a Dive Flag Puzzle.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Stamped Bag with Nautical Flags Alphabet Stamp Set for #sharkweekWe broke up the puzzle and packaged it in a Muslin Bag stamped with the word “puzzle” spelled out with our Nautical Flags stamps. It’s so fun to create words with the Nautical Flags.  The set comes with a handy letter index so that you know each flag’s corresponding letter.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Dive Flag Puzzle for #sharkweekA polaroid tag was created so the recipient will know what the project should look like assembled – a super simple, super cute dive flag.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Shark Week Crafting - Bingo (#sharkweek)Bingo just got a Shark Week makeover! We are sharing a super fun Shark Bingo Boards download so you can print, minc, and play along.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Foiled Shark Bingo for #sharkweek (free download on blog)That’s right, minc…because we play bingo in rose gold foiled style. Plus it’s super pretty and the reflective nature of it kind of speaks to attracting sharks – after all it’s all about Shark Week, right?

Clear and Simple Stamps | Foiled Shark Bingo for #sharkweek (free download on blog)

For foiling, you will want to print the Shark Bingo Boards from a laser printer and then following the instructions provided with your minc machine. We dressed ours up a bit by die cutting them with our rounded edge A4 Note Card dies.

Grab some candy or confetti pieces to place on your boards during a Shark Week program to see if you can fill a row on your board to win the game.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Shark Week Crafting - Cupcakes (#sharkweek)What’s a family fun night during Shark Week without something to chomp on?! Shark Fin cupcakes ought to do the trick.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Shark Fin Cupcakes for #sharkweekWe’ve shared before how much we love to repurpose our stamps and dies, this shark fin cupcake topper is a great example of repurposing your stash! With a few simple cuts of the Build-a-Critter: Bat/Bee wing die, you can turn a wing into a shark fin…and wrap it all up in an ocean inspired Cupcake Wrapper die cut.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Shark Fin Cupcakes (how-to) for #sharkweekShark Week continues for a few more days. We hope you will enjoy these activities with family and friends while watching your favorite shark encounters.
