It’s Spring…at least that’s what the calendar says! However, we still have a smidgen of snow as ground cover and chilly temps to go right along with it. It doesn’t feel much like Spring, so today we are creating with Spring in mind in hopes of warm weather and sunny days to follow soon after.

Nothing says a change in seasons has arrived like the sprouting of pretty flowers and fresh veggies in the garden. This year, we are celebrating Spring with a fun gift for the planting season using a few of our Clear and Simple Stamps supplies.

Clear and Simple Stamps | DIY Garden Gifts Supplies

Gathering up these supplies made for a super quick transformation from plain ol’ seed packets to handcrafted cuties! We have to admit, we are the kind of gardeners that will purchase seeds based on how cute the packaging is on the shelf. So why not make our own that will also double as a plant marker?!

Clear and Simple Stamps | Garden Gifts DIY Seed Packets with MarkerWith (4) simple steps we created a matching set of seed packets that are great for gifting with starter plants:

  1. Take a wooden spoon and one of your Favor Flags die and trace the banner opening onto the spoon with a pencil. Cut along the lines to create a pointed tip, and use your sanding block to smooth the edges. Then stamp the wooden spoon with the coordinating veggie or fruit name from Perfect Harvest Sentiments using Perfect Little Black Dress Ink.
  2. Die cut Toppers from A Blanc Check cardstock, and stamp the front with the mini polka dots Toppers Fillers image. Lightly draw lines horizontally across the top and bottom using the wooden spoon as a guide. Use your exacto knife to trim down from the left and right edges of the lines vertically  – this will hold your stamped plant marker in place.
  3. Erase your pencil lines and insert the plant marker into the topper using the newly cut opening.
  4. Die cut a veggie using the Mini Produce dies. Stamp the coordinating image from Perfect Harvest Too. Then adhere the stamped veggie to the Topper with foam tape.

Our local nursery has a variety of beautiful starter plants that were perfect to bring our gardening project idea to life. The eco-friendly pots are great for easily planting in a larger pot, a wall garden, or in a lovely raised bed. Of course we wanted to make them a bit prettier, so we wrapped each with some of our Kraft Like a Rockstar gift wrap. If you have been following us for a while, you will note we use our gift wrap almost daily! We LOVE this stuff. It’s so versatile, and great for way more than simply wrapping gorgeous gifts.

Clear and Simple Stamps | Gradient Gem Note Card

Clear and Simple Stamps | Gradient Gem Note Card

We love color! Pops of color, a splash of color, pretty tone on tone color…and one of our faves – gradient color (aka ombre). That natural progression of color within one hue is always a winner, and creates a lovely focal point for pretty Gemstone thank you cards.

Once our colors were selected, the note card came together rather quickly.  The fun part was watching the gradient come together with each stamped gem!

For a little of added detail, we colored each gem with a bit of marker for shading.

We reached for our colordex, which was created using the File It system. This way we could easily find  the perfect color to use for shading to match our CSS Hybrid Inks.

You can create an entire set of gradient cards by playing with different color families or create a gift set in the recipients favorite color.  Either way gifting stationery is always a welcomed treat and a great way to say thank you!

Let the countdown begin! There are only twelve days remaining until Valentine’s Day, and you don’t want to get caught having to buy the last bunch of flowers with a couple broken stems from the corner gas station because that is all that is left on the shelf. Let us help you plan ahead with a simple way to dress up a Valentine’s Day favorite…chocolate candy bars.

First things first, you will want to use the chocolate bars that are wrapped in foil.  If you can’t find any, you can easily purchase foil from any candy store retailer online, and cover your bars with pretty foil.  Luckily we were able to easily find them at our local grocer.

Next, you will grab a few rolls of your favorite colors of Clear and Simple Stamps gift wrap to cut down to size – 5.5″ x 6.5″ to be exact, and stamp them with a mix of patterns and backgrounds. Once you’ve completed your stamping, wrap your chocolate bars and secure with Simple Adhesive. Be sure to run your thumb and index finger down the sides to create crisp, smooth edges.

Of course the only way to know if you are gifting good chocolates is to give them a taste test! Add an extra chocolate bar or two to your basket during checkout, so you can have a little snack while crafting…

What’s black and white and cuddly all over? Bao Bao, the absolutely adorable baby panda at the Smithsonian Zoo in Washington, DC. As locals to the area, we have been swept up in the excitement of all things panda, including creating this fun Little Critter Pals Panda Paw-ty…

Inspired by little Boa Boa’s mega cute factor, we pulled together a few ideas to create a fun Panda Paw-ty. This theme party is a great way to get little ones excited about an upcoming trip to the zoo, to use as an educational tool to teach about pandas, or just for fun!

Included is this afternoon of “pandamonium”:

  • A panda-filled, black and white striped, cute as can be Invitation and Matching Envie
  • An arts and crafts project to create Origami Friendship Bracelets
  • Snacking on PB + J Sushi bites for a boost of energy
  • A panda inspired Paw-ty Favor to take home
  • And a coordinating Thank You Card to for the paw-ty goers

We have loved creating with the Curly Label Frames 1 since it released late last year. The whimsical design frames out any image in a super fun way. Pair it with a flowy banner and cuddly panda bear critter and we have the makings of perfect panda paw-ty invitation.

To create a full “oval” frame look simply mask the banner, and with the mask in place, stamp the curly frame above and below.

Visit us on Instagram to see how we transformed the Critter Pals Bear into a sweet Panda, all you’ll need is a pencil and dark gray (or black) markers…and of course your Critter Pals stamped image!

Origami friendship bracelets are a great way to keep paw-ty goers busy with a simple activity that is made from selective inking and a few creative paper folds.

Starting with a 6″ square sheet of A Blanc Check (white) gift wrap, masking paper, and CSS Hybrid ink – here’s a few photos to walk you through “how-to” create this fun project:

Any themed Panda Paw-ty deserves an equally cute Paw-ty Favor! You can create these ahead of time or make them during the party as an arts and crafts activity that the kids can take home with them.

We decorated a Party Favor 13 (take out style box) with the Build-a-Critter Pals dies to create a panda box. Inside the box is a chocolate dipped fortune cookie, individually wrapped in a 3″ Clear Candy Bag with a custom stamped wrapper.

Our paw-ty goers will need a boost of energy and these PB + J Sushi snack bites are the perfect panda paw-ty treat. We simply flattened a slice of bread, spread on peanut butter and jelly, rolled it like sushi and cut into bite-sized pieces. To top each roll, is a tiny dollop of jelly with orange sprinkles.

Since little hands may have a hard time with regular sized chopsticks, we cut down a pair, sanded, and painted the ends. Shorter chopsticks will give the children more control, and it’s a fun way to eat a snack!

Add a cute food marker, a bottle of milk, and a stripey straw for a full on panda style snack time.

Taking a cue from the Panda Paw-ty invitations, we kept the Thank You cards simple and sweet.

You can easily include a photo from the party or from the trip to the zoo to share with the recipient. Everyone loves to reminisce about good times!
