‘Tis the season for mischief and fun with Santa’s little helpers. Who can resist the cuteness of holiday elves? Especially when they pose for adorable selfies with the Polaroid Frame dies. Have you earned your free stamp of the month “Good Vibes Only” yet? You only have a few days left to place an order and receive the July Stamp of the Month freebie set. We used the Good Vibes Only stamp to create a set of Ombré note cards. You’ll love how easy it is to layer ink for a fun way to add color to your sentiments.
Gather up a few of your favorite CSS Hybrid Ink pads in a similar color family, so that you can create a pretty gradient of ombré color. We started by inking the stamp in the lightest of the three ink colors. Next we lightly dabbed the middle shade of ink on the bottom 2/3rds of the stamp, and finally inking the bottom in the darkest ink color. Read more

Summer fruits are the perfect muse for cute little gift bags. And cute gift bags are exactly what we are creating in the studio today – Pineapple Favor Bags to be exact! And we are kind of excited about them, not only because they are adorable but also because we get to add a little punny fun into the mix.
Introducing the new and improved Envie Liner Plus series.
Our Envie Liners have been a longtime CSS Favorite, and we’ve made some awesome upgrades based on customer feedback and how we like to style our own envelopes and stationery. We couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up National Letter and Card Writing Month than with a great new set of dies to dress up your everyday stationery needs.
–> What’s new and improved, you ask? …Everything!
We live on 3-5 cups of coffee per day as a standard baseline amount of caffeine to usher us through the day. Some days we up the ante and double up for added creative fuel…after all that’s what coffee is to crafters, right?!
Pair our love of coffee with the Coffee Lover’s Blog – a sweet blog dedicated to nothing but getting creative with coffee and sharing a mega giveaway, has us brewing with excitement.
We started thinking about a few of our favorite lattes and wanted to create a pretty set of stationery using their ingredients in a fun way. And let us tell you, there’s a latte fun packed into today’s project! Oh yes, the coffee puns will certainly be in full effect throughout – consider yourself warned.
To get started, we decided to break out a brand new set of dies to create our stationery set. The Thin Alpha Series of dies are a beautiful set of upper- and lowercase alphabets, numbers, and symbols in a sleek, thin, type style. We love the slim look of the letters and they coordinate perfectly with the word dies from the Beverage Wrappers die set. They are so pretty and modern you will quickly add this set of dies to your CSS Faves – they are available in the store starting today!
We’ll share a helpful tip – cut full bars of your letters and store your extras to use for later projects. You will love having a collection of pretty letters readily available. We turned our letters into stickers so that we could easily attach our words to our card panels. With a quick run through our Xyron machine, we had a complete alphabet of stickers ready to go.
Having the words left aligned on the card panel created the perfect spot to stamp a to-go coffee cup image from the Morning Brew: Coffee stamp set. A bit of simple coloring with a mix of warm and neutral gray markers and a stamped coffee cozy for each flavor created a fun focal point on each card. But we weren’t finished until we stamped a signature green stir stick at the top of the cup and hand wrote cute latte hashtags with a fine tip black pen: #caramelmacchiato, #mochalatte, #eggnoglatte. Wouldn’t the #EggnogLatte make a great holiday card?
With stationery, comes envelopes and we are serious about making them standout. We keep a few A4 Envie Liners cut so that we can easily stamp and go. For this project the Coffee Pots background stamped in GY-03 | Pressed Greige Linen ink creates a beautiful and subtle pattern against the BR-01 | Dish All the Dirt Brown A4 Envelopes. Now all that’s left is to do is go grab a cup of coffee before we start on our next project!
We’d love to know your favorite coffee flavors or lattes. Take a coffee break from crafting and share with us on Instagram. Then be sure to check back in with the Coffee Lover’s Blog for for all the hop details, to play along, and/or enter in your chance to win one of the amazing giveaways. (Hint, hint…there may be a few CSS goodies up for grabs)…

‘Tis the season for giving with a joyful heart! And not getting caught up in the mad dash of the holidays. We adopt the less is more theory to hold onto our sanity during this time of year…enter the mini holiday card.
Mini holiday cards are the perfect compromise – you get to create something handmade, and it’s small so you can make lots of them in a little amount of time. They tuck neatly under ribbon on a wrapped gift, fit perfectly inside a stocking, or placed between keys on a keyboard at a coworker’s desk. We are a huge fan of the mini card.
To get started we picked a theme and a holiday-inspired color story. With a little pre-planning, this makes creating variations of your mini card come together quickly. Our set of minis is all about the Joy the holidays bring. We reached for our Flurry Days Sentiments stamp set and created this fun trio of cards.
We anchored each mini card with the word “joy” and an adorable tiny red cardinal from the Party Elements: Winter Woodlands Extras stamp set. Don’t overlook the little images in stamp sets – often times they can steal the show, like this cute little bird! For another fun detail, we drew lines with a white gel pen onto each letter – a simple way to alter images for added interest.
And what’s a cute mini note without an equally fabulous envie?! The A3 Stationery Dies make the perfect envelope for 3″ mini cards. (And should absolutely be on your crafty #myCSSwish list!) We love the two-tone color with R-01 | Dare to be a Diva Red on the outside and GR-04 | In the Limelight on the inside – so cute and so festive.
We’re using these mini note cards for gifting. Inside each card is stamped with a simple “to/from” sentiment using the Trendy Tags stamp set. We’ve made a stash of these mini notes for quick grab and go during this holiday season. It’s always helpful to have a few extras on hand just in case you need to give out a last minute gift or two, or ten!
