Fall is right around the corner and we couldn’t be happier! With just a week to go, we are breaking out our Build-a-Wreath: Fall stamp set to create an adorable set of stationery to celebrate the change in seasons. We love the many options packed inside each Build-a-Wreath set to provide a wide variety of wreath style images and scenes perfect for any time of year.
Pumpkin Spice season is officially here and we are celebrating in the studio making #PSL stationery while drinking pumpkin spice lattes, and munching on pumpkin bread while burning pumpkin spice candles. What can we say, we take our research on the subject pretty serious. That and we are sort of obsessing over how fun it is to create crafty projects for such a yummy time of the year.
Bring on the sweater weather, we are so ready for Fall. While we may still be a few weeks early ushering in the change of seasons, we just can’t help ourselves…we love Fall! Anybody else out there look forward to the crunch of leaves, change in colors, smell of pumpkin spice and apple pie wafting through the air? We pretty much transform the studio into an Autumn wonderland. Which certainly helps get you in the mood to create pretty stationery like this Hello Fall card… Read more
It’s Fri-yay! And we are cruising right into the weekend with a fun coffee project to round out an awesome week of Coffee Loving Blog Hopping! We hope you had a chance to create, play, and/or simply hop along for all the coffee-filled inspiration. As a super sponsor for this mega hop we are offering (3) gift certificates to the Clear and Simple Stamps store. Be sure to visit the host blog [here] for all the details, and hurry because today is the last day!
We live on 3-5 cups of coffee per day as a standard baseline amount of caffeine to usher us through the day. Some days we up the ante and double up for added creative fuel…after all that’s what coffee is to crafters, right?!
Pair our love of coffee with the Coffee Lover’s Blog – a sweet blog dedicated to nothing but getting creative with coffee and sharing a mega giveaway, has us brewing with excitement.
We started thinking about a few of our favorite lattes and wanted to create a pretty set of stationery using their ingredients in a fun way. And let us tell you, there’s a latte fun packed into today’s project! Oh yes, the coffee puns will certainly be in full effect throughout – consider yourself warned.
To get started, we decided to break out a brand new set of dies to create our stationery set. The Thin Alpha Series of dies are a beautiful set of upper- and lowercase alphabets, numbers, and symbols in a sleek, thin, type style. We love the slim look of the letters and they coordinate perfectly with the word dies from the Beverage Wrappers die set. They are so pretty and modern you will quickly add this set of dies to your CSS Faves – they are available in the store starting today!
We’ll share a helpful tip – cut full bars of your letters and store your extras to use for later projects. You will love having a collection of pretty letters readily available. We turned our letters into stickers so that we could easily attach our words to our card panels. With a quick run through our Xyron machine, we had a complete alphabet of stickers ready to go.
Having the words left aligned on the card panel created the perfect spot to stamp a to-go coffee cup image from the Morning Brew: Coffee stamp set. A bit of simple coloring with a mix of warm and neutral gray markers and a stamped coffee cozy for each flavor created a fun focal point on each card. But we weren’t finished until we stamped a signature green stir stick at the top of the cup and hand wrote cute latte hashtags with a fine tip black pen: #caramelmacchiato, #mochalatte, #eggnoglatte. Wouldn’t the #EggnogLatte make a great holiday card?
With stationery, comes envelopes and we are serious about making them standout. We keep a few A4 Envie Liners cut so that we can easily stamp and go. For this project the Coffee Pots background stamped in GY-03 | Pressed Greige Linen ink creates a beautiful and subtle pattern against the BR-01 | Dish All the Dirt Brown A4 Envelopes. Now all that’s left is to do is go grab a cup of coffee before we start on our next project!
We’d love to know your favorite coffee flavors or lattes. Take a coffee break from crafting and share with us on Instagram. Then be sure to check back in with the Coffee Lover’s Blog for for all the hop details, to play along, and/or enter in your chance to win one of the amazing giveaways. (Hint, hint…there may be a few CSS goodies up for grabs)…

‘Tis the season for giving with a joyful heart! And not getting caught up in the mad dash of the holidays. We adopt the less is more theory to hold onto our sanity during this time of year…enter the mini holiday card.
Mini holiday cards are the perfect compromise – you get to create something handmade, and it’s small so you can make lots of them in a little amount of time. They tuck neatly under ribbon on a wrapped gift, fit perfectly inside a stocking, or placed between keys on a keyboard at a coworker’s desk. We are a huge fan of the mini card.
To get started we picked a theme and a holiday-inspired color story. With a little pre-planning, this makes creating variations of your mini card come together quickly. Our set of minis is all about the Joy the holidays bring. We reached for our Flurry Days Sentiments stamp set and created this fun trio of cards.
We anchored each mini card with the word “joy” and an adorable tiny red cardinal from the Party Elements: Winter Woodlands Extras stamp set. Don’t overlook the little images in stamp sets – often times they can steal the show, like this cute little bird! For another fun detail, we drew lines with a white gel pen onto each letter – a simple way to alter images for added interest.
And what’s a cute mini note without an equally fabulous envie?! The A3 Stationery Dies make the perfect envelope for 3″ mini cards. (And should absolutely be on your crafty #myCSSwish list!) We love the two-tone color with R-01 | Dare to be a Diva Red on the outside and GR-04 | In the Limelight on the inside – so cute and so festive.
We’re using these mini note cards for gifting. Inside each card is stamped with a simple “to/from” sentiment using the Trendy Tags stamp set. We’ve made a stash of these mini notes for quick grab and go during this holiday season. It’s always helpful to have a few extras on hand just in case you need to give out a last minute gift or two, or ten!

We love color! We are inspired by colors daily and openly admit it is one of the best parts of creating a project. Many times you go into a project with specific colors in mind and other times you need a little bit of inspiration to pull the right mix of colors together.
You may often hear us refer to our coveted Colordex. This is a color index of the entire CSS Color Collection that we created using our Stationery Organizer dies, File It: Color, and File It: CSS Color stamp sets. We use this handy dandy tool every. single. day. It’s a great way to play with colors until you find a combo that works.
While creating the Cute as a Bug Guidebook, we wanted to share our love of color with a series of color combos to help inspire you. Here is a peek at few of our favorite projects and the coordinating color combos that we used in the guidebook.
Do you love color like we do? Create your own Colordex as a great way to organize and plan your colors for your next project. Shop by color in the store [here]…
We love to combine stamp sets and build fun scenes. As soon as we saw the Bug Bash sentiment, we knew that building a scene of bugs in a jar would be perfect for creating invitations. To get started we went to our Color-dex© to pick out just the right colors to create with for this fun theme.
- Cut a A2 size flat note card 4.25″ x 5.5″ from A Blanc Check cardstock.
- Stamp all the party details, sentiments, and mason jar in Perfect Little Black Dress ink. (TIP: Search your sets for adding fun elements. We used the Cake Decorating Too stamp set for the big, bold number 1)
- Stamp the filler images in the mason jar: branch, leaves, dirt.
- Stamp the bug images in and around the mason jar in Perfect Little Black Dress ink, and then color all bugs with markers.
- Stamp the bugs that overlap other images onto scrap paper, color, trim, and paper piece onto the invitation.
Your guests will arrive ready to play in the dirt and have some fun! Be sure to check out our Cute as a Bug Collection Guidebook for more fun projects and inspiration.
