You really don’t need to have a special occasion on hand in order to get excited about macaron sweets! But it certainly is nice to celebrate with tasty little pastry treats. We’re taking our love for desserts from the kitchen into the craftroom with a fun note card using the Let’s Bake series. Those adorable macaron images and fab foodie sayings make us smile each and every time.
Now if you have been following our warehouse sale, you’ll see that the Let’s Bake series has been pretty popular and is almost sold out! Be sure to grab your sets before they are all gone. You’ll also earn the stamp of the month September freebie with purchase, while supplies last.
When you think of macarons, you immediately think of all the pretty colors and yummy flavors. We wanted a softer color palette for this pretty note card and chose a classic Mint, Peach, and Gray combo. You really can’t go wrong with any of these colors! You can click on the Color Story dots above and find even more projects using these colors, so select the By Color link to shop and view more in color options.
Starting with gray, we stamped our macaron images onto a cardstock panel using GY-02 | I Steel Got It ink. We like how the gray gives a very soft outline for us to follow when adding in color, leaving a super subtle outline instead of a hard outline. We stamped random macaron images in both large and small sizes to create a patterned background. For a bit of added detail, we added a slight bit of shading around each image with a soft gray marker.
Next a Labels 13 panel was cut and stamped using the Labels 13 Fillers image in GR-03 | Make Mine Mint ink. A stacked sentiment from Let’s Bake: Sentiments was added in N-02 | Perfect Little Black Dress ink, and popped onto the panel with foam tape. A tiny heart die cur from O-03 | Pretty in Peach cardstock using the Build-a-Critter: Owl/Kitty die set completed the panel.
