Simple Adhesive | Paper Tape Tutorial

A bit of CSS Simple Adhesive can certainly go a long way! Do you remember this adorable project from Collection 6? Today, designer Elena Roussakis is sharing a step-by-step tutorial of her project to show you how to create your own collection of do-it-yourself paper tape using CSS Simple Adhesive

Step One

You will need to gather up just a few simple supplies for this DIY project:

To get started, determine how long you would like to make your strip of paper tape, and cut your tissue paper to the desired length.

Step Two

Next up is prep-work. Here you will adhere your 1/4″ Simple Adhesive to your length of cut tissue paper. Since, Simple Adhesive is double-sided, you can easily peel off the backing and work the adhesive down the tissue paper while keeping it in a straight line.

{TIP} for longer strips, slightly overlap the ends to create a longer continuous strip.

Once adhered, take a pair of scissors and trim off any excess paper around the strip of adhesive.

Now the comes the fun part – stamping!

Grab your favorite background border from the Air Mail stamp set and adhere to your clear block. Dare to be a Diva Red and True Blue Fan are perfect, complimentary, hybrid ink colors for fun postage-inspired paper tape.

Ink up your background image, and stamp down onto the tissue side of your adhesive backed paper strips.

Step Four

Once you have created a nice stash of stamped paper tape, make sure to leave the waxy paper backing on the strips until you are ready to use them.

To adhere to your project, simply tear off the desired amount, peel off the backing and adhere.

For storing you can wrap them on cute little spools that you can admire while dreaming up fun projects to use your new, DIY paper tape.

Try creating a variety of paper tape strips in different colors, and widths using larger or smaller rolls of Simple Adhesive – you can even create a full sheet of paper tape with the 6″ x 10″  or 8.5″ x 11″ sheets.
