Pumpkin Treat Cups

____________________________________________________________________

Halloween has come and gone, which makes room for creating fun projects for the Thanksgiving Day table. You’ll need a few basic supplies to get you started, and of course a few extra sweet treats to enjoy along the way.

You will start by stamping your Labels 9 die cuts with the coordinating frame image found in the Label Frames 1 set. This set has an assortment of frames that match a variety of CSS Label dies – it’s definitely a “must-have” set for the stash!

Once stamped, you will die cut the center circle with your Shapes: Circles die to create the opening for the treat cup. Notice how you get a perfectly stamped circle frame as a result of cutting out the center – this is great to save and use for a future project.

You will insert your treat cup, and fill it with your candy of choice. Be sure to make sure not to overfill, you wan the backing to sit flush against the rim of the treat cup.

For the backing, you will take another Labels 9 die cut, score it with a perforated blade to create a pull tab. Use your Word Windows die to partial cut the tab opening, and stamp the sentiment from the Trinket Sentiments set “open me”.

Adhere the backing to the treat cup. And embellish with a stem, leaf, and button to create your pumpkin treats. All the recipient has to do is pull open the tab on the back.

You could easily replace the thank you sentiment on the front with guest names and use the pumpkins as place cards for your Thanksgiving dinner table – a fun and tasty, interactive treat!

Collection 5: Guest Designer

____________________________________________________________________

We are happy to announce a very talented designer who is joining CSS to kick-off our release and review – Debby Hughes. We adore Debby’s clean and graphic style. If you have not seen her work, you can find a sampling in the CSS Flickr gallery or on her blog Limdoodle.  Join us in welcoming Debby as our guest designer and get to know a bit more about her…

Debby has been always been known for making something her whole life, but her crafty pursuits have become a more prominent part of her life after her children were born and she became a stay at home Mum. She found that creating was a great antidote to running around after little ones during the day. And we are super excited that she is here to share creations with us all.

Here is a signature Debby card that we love:

Where to start… well, I’m a “leaf fanatic,” so let’s give the stamps AND dies a “shout out!” The linen background will be very versatile! Putting glitter on the cloud is so clever! I often combine stamping and dry embossing so… and the treat cups are well-explained and delightful. Great release, dear hearts! And a warm welcome to Debby, as well.
