Baby, General, Mar, Release, Thank Youon March 2nd, 20125 Comments

COLLECTION 2 RELEASE PREVIEW

It’s “Sneak Preview” day 2, and today we are all about die cuts – fabulous, fun die cuts! Whether you enjoy image die cuts that coordinate with your stamp sets, fun party favors bags and boxes, versatile borders, or fun shapes and labels – this release has a little die cut something for everyone…

____________________________________________________________________

A Flutter with Thanks…

____________________________________________________________________

In Collection 2, we are releasing {16} die cuts. Sixteen! If you visited with us yesterday, we shared that we have {8} new backgrounds, and now {16} new die cuts….this release is sure to be a fun one – we can’t wait for you to see it all March 5th.  But until then, enjoy the sneak peeks here on the blog and with our amazing designers.

Today’s card features a fun new label in the die cuts series – Labels 4.  You may have noticed that we’ve only previously released Labels 1…so there are a few more fun labels that will be appearing this release along with #4.  In fact there are {3} different label sets included in the upcoming release, {2} shape series, a new party favor, {3} borders, {2} cute builder dies….and a ton more.

  • Labels 4 is a die cut/stamp set combo. It will retail for $24 and includes (3) graduated dies cuts and (3) frame stamp images – one for each die cut size. By having a die cut/stamp set combo, you will always have a stamp that works with your die cuts.
We started off previewing background sets yesterday and today’s card features another sweet background builder from the Playroom set paired with the new Labels 4 die cut. The butterfly background adds a fun element of whimsy to any project.
Flip open the card for a sweet message and another fun little butterfly.  We love that you have varying sizes and both left-facing and right-facing options with these petite images intermixed throughout the release.
Check out more sneak peeks and additional projects using several new sets from Collection 2 throughout the week and on the CSS Daily App, as our design team has a ton of inspiration to share with you…

A Little Birdie Told Me…

____________________________________________________________________

A little birdie told us that Clear and Simple Stamps is releasing (8) different background sets. Eight! Today we are featuring two of the new sets: Playroom and Gingham.

  • Playroom will retail for $24 and includes (10) background builder bars and (2) fun petite images. It’s a great set for fun and playful projects to use for a variety of occasions.
  • Gingham will retail for $15.  This is a 4 x 4 square image that covers a large space with just one stamp.  The beauty of this background square is that it is repeatable on all four sides.
Creating with backgrounds can be achieved in many different ways. For today’s project we wanted to add a subtle background on our card banner.  With the help of a little bit of masking we were able to add pops of color and pattern to each panel of the banner. To start, we stamped the banner in Perfect Little Black Dress ink onto A Blanc Check cardstock.
We then stamped the banner again onto a sheet of sticky note paper.

Carefully trim only the topper portion of the banner.  Be sure to keep the topper as one complete piece.

Cover the image with more sticky note papers, keeping only the area you want to stamp exposed.
Select the colors you would like to use, ink up your gingham pattern stamp in the first color, and stamp your banner. Repeat this process for each banner flag until complete. Remove your mask and you have created a colorful and decorated banner by using your background stamps.

Inside is stamped with a simple greeting that has been colored in with Copic Markers, and the gingham pattern repeated along the bottom.

A sweet little gift bag created with the Party Favor 1 die cut was cut from A Blanc Check cardstock and stamped with the Gingham background stamp. It is very easy to line up the background and create one uniform pattern. The bag is decorated with a few fun die cuts that will also be releasing March 5th – stop back tomorrow as we showcase a sneak peek into the amazing series of die cuts in the Collection 2 release.

The banner from today’s project is one of two banners in the Playroom set.  You will also find a great mix of alphabets, numbers, butterflies, buttons, stars, and more in this fun background set.
Check out more sneak peeks and additional projects using several new sets from Collection 2 throughout the week and on the CSS Daily App, as our design team has a ton of inspiration to share with you…

REVIEW: Lucky Charm

General, Party Favors, Release, St. Patrick's Dayon February 3rd, 20122 Comments

JANUARY/FEBRUARY RELEASE IN REVIEW

Everyone could use a little good luck charm. And with the latest release, we are creating fun projects with the new Lucky Charm set. At first, it may have you thinking St. Patrick’s Day, but if you take a closer look at the set you will unlock a few fab finds that expand your options while creating.

All week long we will highlight products from the current release, featuring fun tips and tricks, new ideas, and an amazing celebration on February 5th.  So mark your calendars and come be our guests.

Now let’s take a closer look at Lucky Charm….

Lucky Charm

____________________________________________________________________

We focused mainly on the small clover circle image to stamp in a row for the focal point on our card.  We left an opening wide enough for a simple greeting to create this CAS-style card.

For the favor box we stamped the background text from Quotes II around the base.  Then assemble the Party Favor 2 box with Simple Adhesive, and tied a matching ribbon into a bow. To complete the favor, we added a simple tag from the Tags 1 die cut that has been stamped with a frame and sentiment from the Trendy Tags set.

But wait there are so many more wonderful options with the Lucky Charm set!  It comes with a full size tag frame that coordinates with the Tags 1 die cut.  It also has a polka-a-dot top and bottom frame filler to add even more detail to your tags, like the example we shared here.

There is a super fun rainbow image that pairs well with the pot-o-gold from the Taglines set, that was featured in this cute project by SW Editor Amber Daigre here.

And in case you missed all the fun and excitement on the Runway Inspired Challenge blog, you can see even more amazing creations from Cristina Kowalczyk, Sarah Jay, Jennifer Rzasa, Angeline Yong, and Laura Bassen here.

We love the versatility of the Love Cupid stamp set.  The mix and match sentiments allow for so many possibilities from Valentine’s Day, weddings and anniversaries, to a simple love note. We’ve paired the half damask image with the Quotes II background text for a delicate layered image on the die cut heart from the Shapes (Hearts) die cut combo set for the card’s focal point. We finished the card with a precious banner stamped with a sweet sentiment – perfect for a special loved one.

We couldn’t kick off a release day without sharing a little project with you.  How about some coordinating mini cards and lollipop treats? The Tags 1 die cut is the perfect size for these miniature tootsie roll pops. We punched a hole in the opposite end so that it would become a slider for the lollipop stick. Pair it with a coordinating Little Critter card and you have an instant Valentine’s Day treat.  These are perfect little surprises to leave in side lunch bags and coat pockets.
