We’ve Moved

New babies, often means a new crib. Invite friends over to help paint the new nursery, or have a packing party to help make the moving process a little easier…

We took out our Cart Pals: Baby set for today’s card.  We just {heart} all the sweet baby images that work with the fun carts. You can mix and match to create cards for all sorts of occasions.  And to add to the fun there is also a Cart Pals: Occasions set that allows for even more fab cart building options.

We die cut the tag using the larger size tag in the Tags 1 die cut set. The teddy bear image was stamped first.  We then added a mask and stamped the boxes. Next we stamped the cart and lastly the pull handle. The image was colored using Copic markers. We did shorten the tag just a bit and rounded the corners to keep with the original look.  That’s one reason we LOVE this tag – you can create so many different lengths to suit your needs.

Style Watch {Die Cut Delights}

Chevrons are everywhere right now. I can’t remember the last time there was a hotter trend in fashion, home decor and crafting.

Personally, I love the modern, bold and graphic look of chevrons. So, it goes without saying that I was extremely excited to see the newly released Ric Rac/Pinking die and stamp collection in my design team package…

Rainbow Ric Rac: Style Board Inspiration

This set includes four dies and a set of coordinating stamps. The design behind the dies is absolutely genius! Both the rick rack and pinking (chevron) dies come with an edge cutter as well as a die that cuts the individual image.

For today’s cards, I wanted to showcase these dies and give you an idea of their versatility. I went with a bold rainbow color scheme and kept the design simple and graphic. With these dies, the possibilities are endless and you’ll always be on trend.

Until later Loverlies,

Amber D

Butterfly Thanks

General, Thank Youon April 19th, 20122 Comments

It’s butterfly season. It seems like every time we look out our windows we see beautiful butterflies fluttering around the garden.  So today, we decided to create a fun card using the butterfly background bar in the Playroom set. There are (10) different background options in this set, which makes it super versatile and fun to create a variety of projects….

Butterfly Thanks

We started with a simple white on white CAS design. We die cut a large circle from the Shapes: Circle die cuts, and used the negative area as a mask.  Once we decided where to place the circle, we then stamped the butterfly background bar from Playroom in Perfect Little Black Dress ink to fill the space. The images were colored with Copic markers and a sweet little stamped Labels 4 was added with dimensionals.

For the mini card, we kept the design equally simple and clean. We started with a 3″ square Creamsicle Cardigan card base, and added a coordinating stamped panel with dimensionals.

A Gift for You

Birthday, General, Thank Youon April 17th, 20121 Comment

Take a break from your taxes. With the hustle and bustle of tax day, we wanted to pop in and share a fun ensemble today…

This cute little plane makes us think about the Peanuts character Snoopy in his Red Baron phase.  How fun would it be to have a Red Baron party for kids? Here is a cute little Thank You card and Party Favor that would be a perfect fit.

We wanted to have a coordinated favor box, so we started by die cutting the Party Favor 2 from Dare to be a Diva Red cardstock. We then stamped the base with the adorable plane background bar in the Playroom stamp set. We absolutely love that you can create for both a boy or girl with these mix of stamps.  And the best part is that each bar can build a repetitive pattern that is virtually seamless – LOVE that!

For the card, we went with a simple design that allowed the plane image from the Tiny Fashions stamp set to be the main focal point for the card.  The sentiment was stamped on a curve in Perfect Little Black Dress ink.  We masked off the sentiment with a small sticky note, and stamped the dashed line from the Onesie Decorating set. The cloud was die cut from the Spring set of dies and the plane image was stamped, colored, trim and adhered with dimensionals.

Spring is Here

Diagonals lines always present a little bit of a challenge for us, so we decided to have a bit of fun with it by creating the illusion of a diagonal line. We created a square card base and a raised square panel. We kept the color palette neutral so that the center image panel would become the main focal point. The raised panel was stamped with the Diamond Grid background, and then cut on the diagonal. By separating the panel the diagonal line makes a subtle appearance. We’d love to see your take on Card Patterns super fun Sketch #161.
