Congratulations

Congrats, General, Schoolon May 16th, 2012No Comments

Hats off to the graduating class of 2012! As the school year begins to wind down for some, graduation marks the close to one chapter in life and turns the page to begin anew. Today we are sharing a sweet and simple card that looks like a scene after many graduations – when you walk in, lay your cap and gown down and enjoy being in the moment of your well deserved accomplishment…

Congratulations

____________________________________________________________________

When building this scene we turned to our Craft Room set for the wall shelf.  We love that you can place so many different images on this shelf to work for a variety of occasions. The little vase was stamped with the small curved lines in the All Occasions 2 set to add a bit of design detail to the vase.

A sentiment was added on a coordinating cardstock strip and trimmed on the right edge with pinking shears for added detail.

For You Mom : Style Board Inspiration

__________________________________________________________________________________

A mother’s love is pure and sweet.  There is an elegant simplicity in unconditional love. I tried to capture this by using die-cut tags that spell the word “mom” as a fashionable tribute to my mom and her love.

Simple gifts are the most thoughtful and versatile; they may be boxed, wrapped, and used as a table centerpiece (flowers add a great springtime touch).  My mom is a big fan of color so it was fun to match the CSS colors to create the tags and use the twine to complement this project.

While making today’s project, I got to use the best fashion tip ever – accessorize the simple…

Make it Stylish – Ayanna

You Are Special

Create and encourage. We love to share projects that have inspirational messages for the recipient. Every now and again it is nice to send a card to let someone know that you are thinking about them, and that they are special to you…

You Are Special

We layered the outline diamond grid with the solid diamond grid images in the Designer Lines set to create this subtle argyle background on a You’re a Natural Darling cardstock panel in Creamsicle Cardigan ink. A large butterfly was die cut from the Butterflies 2 series, and the panel adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

A smaller butterfly was die cut from the same Butterflies 2 series and stamped with a coordinating image from Butterfly Garden 2. If you are wondering which butterflies coordinate with which die cuts you will look at the end number.  Butterflies 1 coordinates with Butterfly Garden 1 and for Butterflies 2, it coordinates with Butterfly Garden 2. Both designs are incredibly versatile and offer an abundance of options for creating beautiful projects.

A sentiment was stamped in Dish All the Dirt Brown ink onto a Creamsicle Cardigan cardstock strip.  The ends were flagged and the strip adhered with dimensionals.

His and Her

Birthday, Generalon May 8th, 20121 Comment

Don’t you love it when you discover a new way to use a set of stamps? Sometimes it can be as simple as changing up the colors you use or the embellishments you add to a project, that makes you look at a stamp set in a whole new way. Today we are creating his and her projects. We will start from the same basic tools and create a card with a masculine feel and one that has a feminine appeal…

Group Project: Masculine/Feminine

___________________________________________________________________

With each month, comes a fun new challenge that is presented to the design team. This month features projects that use the same elements to create a masculine and a feminine project. Join the design team as we share a few fun ideas incorporating great ways to use your sets for him or for her on your next project.  We’ve included a full list of participating CSS designers:

Lori / Jaclyn / Jennifer / Laurie / Kim / Dana / Laura / Tracy

His and Her:

A simple CAS-style layout serves as the base for both cards. We love the new backgrounds, and chose to work with Lattice for our group project.  We selected a masculine color palette of Slate and Gray for one card. And for our Feminine version we went with a brighter color scheme of Yellow and Pink.
