COLLECTION 3 RELEASE IN REVIEW

It’s wedding season – the season of love. And what do we L.O.V.E. at Clear and Simple Stamps? All the wonderful and creative things you can do with alphabet sets and die cuts. Especially when it comes to creating custom favors for the happy couple.

With each growing release, we love to take time out and review all of the new products, point out fun tips and tricks, and share lots of inspiration along the way. Let’s get started and take a closer look at the {Alphabets and Numbers} from Collection 3…

For today’s project we are creating a fun potpourri sachet using the new Alpha Engraved alphabet set. Our alphabets come as individual square stamps that are equally spaced, which makes lining up straight sentiments as easy as 1-2-3.

We love to think of fun little favors for parties, or fun activities guests can do that double as favors.  With wedding season in full gear, we thought it would be great to share a quick and easy DIY project for a Potpourri Bar. Create custom stamped bags, add color coordinating ribbon, and allow your guest to fill them with a potpourri scent of their choice, for a usable fab favor as a bridal shower keepsake.
Typically these cute little muslin bags come with a linen thread drawstring, but we wanted to dress up our bags by adding our CSS Perfect Little Black Dress (double-faced satin) ribbon. Switching out our drawstrings only took a minute and turned an ordinary bag into pretty packaging. All you need is a muslin bag, a safety pin, and your choice of CSS ribbon.
  • First, remove the drawstring that came with the bag.
  • Then add the safety pin to one end of your CSS ribbon.
  • Thread the safety pin through the existing opening for the drawstrings.
  • Adjust your ribbon to the desired length and snip your ends with pinking shears so they will not fray.
Once we switched out the drawstring, we stamped the sentiment “love” by arranging the letters in a cube formation on a clear block and stamping in our Perfect Little Black Dress ink directly onto the bag.  (CSS ink is a hybrid ink, which is fast drying and permanent on fabrics.) The flourish frame was created using stamps from the Au Naturel Extras stamp set and the little icon butterfly from the coordinating Au Naturel set.
To finish off the favor, each guest can fill their sachet with scented potpourri and tie their bags closed with a bow.
We really enjoy creating custom gifts and projects using Alphabets. In addition to Alpha Engraved, you will also find Lowercase, Uppercase, and Numbers die cuts as part of the latest release.
