Happy New Year! Many new and exciting things are brewing at Clear and Simple Stamps. Join us all week long, as we bring you peeks into our first release of 2012. It’s jammed packed with all sorts of goodies you don’t want to miss. And today, we are kicking off release week with a fun look into the set: Background Basics 1..

BACKGROUND BASICS 1

This set will retail for {$24}, and trust us when we tell you it truly is a “must have” in your CSS stash! This set comes complete with eight different builder backgrounds that make creating stamped projects so simple, you will love it. To showcase a few of the background images we die cut three hearts from our new Hearts Shape Series of die cuts (more on that later in the week). And to give them a polished edge we went around each heart with a black pen.

This fun layout makes for quick and simple replication in a variety of colors. We went with Coral Necklace, Say Yellow to All Your Fans, and Orange You Fabulous to add a nice punch of color to the monochromatic, patterned hearts.

This first card uses the solid motif background…

The next card uses the whimsical paisley background…

And for the last card, we used the graphic chevron background…

The sentiment stamped under each heart comes from the Love Cupid set also releasing this month. We added a bit more color with coordinating strips of cardstock along the bottom portion of the card base. And finally, each heart was embellished with a coordinating button threaded with baker’s twine tied into a fun little bow.

This set includes 5 additional designs to include: woodgrain, hexagons (featured in this issue of style watch), hearts, sheet music, and quatrefoil. You will see additional projects using the Background Basics 1 throughout the week and on the CSS Daily App, as our design team has lots of inspiration to share with you…
