Happy Holidays Tag

You’ve earned your stripes, now let’s put them to good use. We hope you have enjoyed the “Tag-a-licious Tuesday” series. Today is our final project for November, and is a fun way to use up any left over bits and pieces of papers you may have in your craft room. After all, you’ve earned the right to hoard every last bit of scrap paper, so now is your chance to use them up and get ready for the holidays…

Stripes are a timeless trend in fashion, design, and paper crafting. You can reinvent stripes many different ways: chevrons, zig-zag, wide, thin, racer – we could go on for days, but today we are focusing on diagonal stripes.
We took a sheet of Simple Adhesive and chipboard, cut them down to the size of the tag die cut, and set them aside. We then took scrap strips of Dare to be a Diva Red and A Blanc Check cardstock, trimmed them down to thin strips. We removed the sticky backing from one side of the Simple Adhesive, then laid the strips down alternating the colors until we covered the entire area. Next, we removed the remaining sticky backing and adhered the entire panel to the chipboard panel.
The entire piece was then die cut to create a tag. The penguin image was stamped in PerfectLittle Black Dress ink on A Blanc Check cardstock, colored with Copic Trio Marker sets, cut out and adhere to bottom of tag with dimensionals. The sentiment was added to a diagonal strip in Perfect Little Black Dress ink.
To finish the tag, we added Designer Mix Twill ribbon threaded through the hole, and secured it with a Clothesline button threaded with linen thread tied into a bow.
